What to Expect from Integrative Physical Therapy

Our goal is to give you the best, most effective physical therapy you can possibly receive. Here is what you can expect in our clinic.

*We listen carefully to your needs and concerns and address them in your treatment plan.

*You will be actively involved in your treatment plan and setting of your goals, because we have found that your involvement accelerates your recovery.

*A thorough musculoskeletal evaluation will be conducted to identify the specific tissues involved in the injury, including an evaluation of your bones, muscle, nerves and tendons.

*Your evaluation will include a medical history review. During this review we will look for complicating factors, such as chronic inflammation, that might slow down your progress.

*Your treatment program will include the appropriate manual therapy techniques to facilitate your healing. This may include spinal or joint mobilization, neural mobilization, myofascial release, craniosacral mobilization, or massage.

*An individualized exercise program will be developed to address your specific needs. It will include special exercises that you can do at home, as well as in our clinic. This program will be a critical factor in your rapid recovery.

*The length of your individualized treatment program depends on your needs and goals. On average, you might expect the initial program to consist of 1-2 visits per week for 8-12 weeks. Certain diagnosis may require more frequent visits or a longer treatment program.

*When your bones, muscles and connective tissue have recovered most of their function, you should experience significantly reduced pain and have tissue strong enough to prevent future injury. At this point, we give you a health maintenance program to make sure that you don't regress. Good health and maintenance of full function is a life-long process.
